
Reluctant Hero is a creative design studio set up in 2003 by Peter Manning and Sheilen Rathod.
Peter Manning moved to the U.S. in the early 90s. After developing graphics for the Esprit brand, Peter went on to design and direct all aspects of the Boxfresh aesthetic. He then moved to DKNY as Director of Graphics.
Peter was appointed Design Director of Graphics for Calvin Klein Jeans in the late 90s helping them grow into the iconic company they are today.
Sheilen Rathod moved to NY in the early 90s. He cut his teeth on the teen market working for clients such as Microsoft and Acclaim Entertainment, moving on to direct youth marketing campaigns for Polaroid and Sony.
After directing fashion campaigns for Todd Oldham Jeans brand, Ralph Lauren, CosmoGirl and Nivea, Sheilen then moved to Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners. There, he helped develop global marketing solutions for such iconic companies as Revlon and Coca-Cola.
Reluctant Hero now work with a group of illustrious designers and marketers helping some of the best brands around improve their products, presentation and marketing. We always aim to bring new ideas and a fresh approach to each and every project we undertake.
The team is made up of illustrators, designers and art directors, all pushed along by some forceful account handlers.
